Elizabeth Taylor vs My Mom (and Me)

After I posted that beautiful picture of my mom last week and got such nice responses, I called my dad to thank him again for taking the time to scan it and send it to me. It was such a wonderful surprise! I gave him the link to the post and he showed it to my mom. I made such a fuss over it that he scanned and sent me more pictures! Jackpot! 🙂

At the same time, Elizabeth Taylor has died. Liz was born in 1932, my mom in 1931. I always thought they looked alike in some ways. (But my mom is way cooler!)

So here’s a little tribute to two beautiful ladies from a day gone by. What do you think?

  1. You know if she had all the makeup people and hair stylists as Liz did I’ll bet there wouldn’t be much difference at all. Both are beauties.

PHave a terrific day. Big hug to you and Princess Gail. 🙂

  2. Liz has professional makeup, and no baby on her knee, but your Mom’s eyes are beautiful, and I don’t like Liz… so there is no contest for me.

    1. Ha!
I never did like Liz very much, either! But she was very pretty as a younger woman. Then she gradually got uglier as an overall person. Her life was like a Hollywood cartoon.

      1. Give her credit for being one of the first people in Hollywood to risk her career by speaking out for AIDS patients. She spent the last three decades of her life working to raise awareness and millions of dollars in research money. She left her entire jewelry fortune to the cause when she died. She was also an intensely loyal friend to those she loved.

  3. Your mom is obviously a beautiful woman. I’m sure she’s found her life a much happier one than Miss Taylor did hers. How could she not with you in it? Right?

    1. I’m sure you know more about Liz than I do, having been in the business! So I will believe you that she was a loving mom. I’m actually glad to know that, because I like to think well of people.
