I think this season of American Idol was one of the best ever! The talent that bubbled to the top was truly remarkable. There were several that I thought had enough talent to become this year’s idol.
Like most years, my pick did not make it to the top. Though I truly congratulate Lee DeWyze and wish him the best, I think America missed it on two extremely artistic and talented contestants: Crystal Bowersox (from Toledo, Ohio! Yey!) and Siobhan Magnus.
In the past, the American Idol finalist has not always been the most successful. Sometimes it’s best to be number two. So I hope in the future to hear a lot more from both Crystal and Siobhan and their very special, unique talents.
I’m grateful for all these young people on American Idol. Their music brings me a special joy. They are all winners in a big way!
I'm glad to hear someone say positive things about this season of American Idol. I enjoyed it as always and agree that there was a lot of talent this season. It will be interesting to see what happens when Simon leaves. I hope he show continues to do well. Have a great day 🙂

I read today that the ratings were about 20% lower for this Idol final compared to last year's. Maybe that's why Simon is leaving. Maybe the show has peaked and is declining, after 9 years. I think that's the average lifespan of most shows. We'll see. I hope not, though, because we really do enjoy the show.
You have a great day, too! 🙂
I was really pulling for Crystal to win it all.

Can you believe I've never watched AI? Chuck, Ugly Betty, Psych, Parks & Rec, Drop Dead Diva – you get the picture. I even ran into the host, Ryan Seacrest and had to be told who he is. I'm out of the loop!

I know, right!? A girl from northwest Ohio! Cool!

Well… we can't blame work because the show has been on for 9 years! But I understand. It's all about priorities. There is only so much time in a day, and in these 9 years, you have been a professional mom among many other things of which I have no idea.
I would love to know what your typical day is like.
And not knowing Ryan Seacrest, considering where you live and what you do, is great! I hope he was aware that you didn't know who he was! He is considerably pompous.
I rooted for Crystal but I don't think it matters much. Her career will take off and she richly deserves the fame. I LOVED Lee and and had a secret crush on him (not so secret now..) The show did so much for his self-esteem and confidence. That was amazing to watch. I thought this season was lackluster compared to others but the last show was incredible with the tribute to cranky Simon.
I'm going to marry him. Did you know that?
Mimi~
Glad to know you enjoy the show! And being a singer yourself, you can appreciate the nuances better than most of us, I'm sure. It would be fun to watch a show next season with you. We should all get together.
