Al, Kirsten, Christian and Daniel come to visit!

My brother Al, his wife Kirsten, and their two adorable, energetic boys Christian and Daniel came to Winston for a visit! We spent some quality time together at our house, at City Lake Park in Jamestown, and at a nearby pond. Here are a few images to immortalize our great day and a half!

The boys enjoyed their lego cars, chasing the cat, Gail’s bird feeders, and checking out our massage chair and the rest of our furniture!

The had a bubble bath in our jacuzzi and then cuddled up to a movie.

We went to City Lake Park in Jamestown, NC, at the recommendation of two young-mom therapists at work. (Thank you, Kelli and Robynn!) The kids enjoyed the playgrounds…

… and we rode the train and the merry-go-round!

Later, we hung out at a neighborhood pond, where the boys tried out their 25 cent, garage sale radio controlled boat, Al showed off his casting skills retrieving said boat, and I took a few pictures for Macro Monday.

It was really fun hanging out with the Columbus Crottes. The boys are a riot and my sister in law Kirsten is a dream. My little brother is doing alright! 🙂

  1. What a great time. Visiting with family is indeed a great thing. We are working on an Indiana trip this coming October to visit my sister and brother in law. Can’t wait.

I want to go to that playground and have some fun too. The merry go round looks like great fun.

    Have a terrific weekend. 🙂

    1. You and Z will have to find a playground close to home, so you can ride the merry go round! 🙂

Have a terrific weekend yourself. I think you’re on the boat this weekend, right?

  2. WONDERFUL pictures! I almost expected there to be a picture of you in the end, collapsed on the floor, with the boys putting shaving cream in your hand!

    1. Ha! It could have happened, but they were only with us for an evening, a day, and two nights. They are very active boys! I can see why God and nature gives them to the parents when they are young and strong! 🙂

  3. Great pictures, Ferd. Looks like you had a wonderful time and got to enjoy the family.

By the way, I was wondering if you and Gail had ever visited Childress Vinyards? Mary and I were there a couple of months ago and it was a beautiful location. Plus the food in the Bistro was delicious.

    1. It was indeed a wonderful time! The pictures are good, but they don’t come close to capturing all the cool moments of their visit. Thanks for your nice comment! 🙂

  4. Guapísimos mis primos!! Hasta en fotos se les ve lo tremendos y activos. Hay que poner a Al en dieta, esa foto junto a ti en la banca no deja ver su guapura. Muchos abrazos!!

    1. Hola, Ale!!!

  5. Just snooping around… seeing if I missed anything. Looks like a great visit… I especially like the over-and-under shot as the boys tried out your furniture. Hahaha…
