I was a 21 year old college junior when I first laid eyes on Farrah, playing Jill Munroe on Charlie’s Angels. I remember thinking she was a really gifted actress playing in a series dealing with important social issues an impossibly gorgeous woman, and being hormonally gaga for several seasons. That smile! That hair! That poster! OMG!!!

Over the years, she remained beautiful, aging gracefully. She became less object and more human to me, as she experienced the ups and downs of life, and as I grew up a little. (I said a little. I’m still working on it.) I don’t know why, but I am sad to see her go. I’m sad she had to suffer a cancer death. And I don’t want the MJ thing to totally overshadow her passing.

I saw this tribute on YouTube and I like it. Here’s to Farrah, speaking for all the men-boys of my generation:

How many people will ever have his scope of influence? Over the course of his short lifetime, Michael Jackson worked himself into the collective consciousness of our entire planet, regardless of age and race!
