Now She’s Really Angel Farrah

Farrah_Fawcett_iconic_pinup_1976I was a 21 year old college junior when I first laid eyes on Farrah, playing Jill Munroe on Charlie’s Angels. I remember thinking she was a really gifted actress playing in a series dealing with important social issues an impossibly gorgeous woman, and being hormonally gaga for several seasons. That smile! That hair! That poster! OMG!!!

Over the years, she remained beautiful, aging gracefully. She became less object and more human to me, as she experienced the ups and downs of life, and as I grew up a little. (I said a little. I’m still working on it.) I don’t know why, but I am sad to see her go. I’m sad she had to suffer a cancer death. And I don’t want the MJ thing to totally overshadow her passing.

I saw this tribute on YouTube and I like it. Here’s to Farrah, speaking for all the men-boys of my generation:

  • And all of us girls wanted to look like her. She was indeed very beautiful. Excellent post Ferd.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  • I was a big Charlie’s Angel’s fan (especially of the original 3 angels). I couldn’t believe how gorgeous and perfect they all looked while capturing criminals in high heels and silk blouses; I tried to do the same several times, but by the time I pulled out my toy pistol, the criminals had taken off. But truly Farrah managed to prove herself far more than just a pretty face. She actually had talent. Her illness and passing were very sad.

So did you have Farrah hair back in the 70’s or 80’s? Gail did. I think that would be a cool meme for someone to start! How ’bout it?

You scare me sometimes. Intelligent, beautiful, and packing a toy gun! Quite the femme fatale!
    ; )

  • I had nothing at all resembling Farrah’s gorgeous locks, but that didn’t stop me from trying to get them. I bought her shampoo (remember it?), but alas, it didn’t turn me into a beauty.

I’m pleased with the way the media has covered her passing, with very few mentions of some of the kookier things she’s done. All the tributes have been well-done and respectful.

    Have a good weekend, Ferd!

Ahem. Hint, clue: It didn’t “turn” you into a beauty, because you already were! At least that what all your Junk Drawer fans think, and I KNOW I speak for all of them!

  • A fitting tribute to a wonderful lady full of beauty and grace.

  • Wow! What a beautiful tribute to Farrah! I loved it! She is just amazing. I have so much respect for her especially because of how she shared her fight with cancer with everyone, not to many of us could do that. I hope we never forget her.

I have something for you at my site so come and see.

    Love and Blessings,
    AngelBaby

That was a nice comment from another wonderful lady full of beauty and grace. Yeah, you!

Thank you, too, for your nice comment. But I must say that you are a bit biased. I know how you angels stick together!
